>  Keith Bannister -  Partner IT Advisory (Public Sector), KPMG
>  Colin Tagg  -  Director IT Advisory (Central Government), KPMG

The judging process:
In order that each application was reviewed fairly, the e-Government National Awards panel established a rigorous assessment procedure. Each application was reviewed to ensure that the application is eligible for an award (See eligibility). The application must then be outstanding in the following areas:
> Demonstrable achievement of strategy or tactics in e-Government by organisations, services, projects, teams, people or suppliers.
> Degree of Innovation
> Commitment shown by staff
> Ability for future further development
> Ability for good practice to be adopted by others in the public sector
> Evidence of substantive/measurable impact and/or benefits

The e-Government National Awards Panel shortlisted finalist entries in all categories - with commendations allocated to those the panel felt should be given recognition. If no entries met the award criteria or the criteria are not sufficiently satisfied then no award is made. The e-Government National Awards are for organisations that have made a significant commitment to UK e-Government and as such the Awards will only be awarded to organisations that can satisfy the criteria. The judge's decision is final.

ASSESSMENT CYCLE
The closing date for the e-Government National Awards is 5pm, 1st October.

In October and early November the judging panel judged the nominations and chose finalists. The names of the award winners will be officially announced at the awards ceremony on 22nd January. Representatives from all of the award winners are invited to the ceremony along with winners of major commendations.
